I included Bethesda-by-the-Sea as part of my financial legacy because Bethesda has been central to my spiritual life for more than 35 years as a place of worship, learning, teaching, and participating in the leadership of the Parish. My legacy will be fulfilled by a distribution from one of my IRAs. To determine the amount of my bequest, I used the following "rule of thumb" - my bequest is an amount approximately 20 times my Annual Pledge. In this way, if my contribution to Bethesda's Endowment Fund earns 5% annually, Bethesda will continue to receive an amount approximately equal to my annual pledge even after my passing.
